Multimedia artist Tom Enoch, applies domestic objects of the mundane everyday with unconventional approaches to transgressively employ humour in an attempt to provoke and challenge. By understanding that humour is subjective but can also be comprehensive. Enoch’s practice questions how art can fulfil social, emotional, and psychological functions with the capacity to arouse a range of emotions? Made at a time when physical presence was absent, the artwork ironically reflects a sense of isolationism, both domestic and artistic. Trapped, partitioned from the outside world by the work itself, the artist is trying to break free; to invite you into an artistic playground of nostalgia made out of neon and pop colours, humorous titles and playful actions.
